Legacy system support
Your old system, looked after properly.
If the one person who understands it won the lottery tomorrow, what would happen on Monday? Geekwork takes over the system your business depends on, makes it safe, supports it, and helps you decide what comes next, including systems that have been running for more than 10 years.
Your old system
Does your system keep you awake at night?
Tick any that are true of the system your business relies on. Nothing is sent anywhere: it's just between you and this page.
What's included
Safe first. Then supported. Then better.
Old systems rarely fail because they're old. They fail because nobody knows how they work. So the first thing you get is documentation, and it's yours to keep. Typical systems: client portals, booking and job management systems, bespoke databases, and spreadsheets that grew too big.
- Fixed-price health check. You keep the documentation, whatever you decide next
- Urgent risks fixed: security, backups, out-of-support software
- Ongoing support with agreed response times
- Modernise or rebuild when the time is right
How it works
From "nobody dares touch it" to looked after.
Each step stands on its own. If the health check is all you need, stop there: the documentation is still yours.
Health check
We take a copy of the code, hosting and data, and report back: how it works, what's at risk and what to fix first. At a fixed price.
Stabilise
The urgent risks fixed: backups, security updates, out-of-support hosting and source control. A fixed price, based on the health check.
Support
Fixes, small changes and a quarterly review, with agreed response times, on a monthly retainer.
Modernise
When the time is right, replace parts of it or rebuild it, starting with a prototype and a fixed price for each phase.
Start with a conversation
Tell us about the system that keeps you awake.
The first conversation is free and is simply about your system and whether Geekwork is the right fit. Even if we never work together, you'll have a written summary and a suggested next step the same day.
